Pi Sigma Pi  :::

The Lincoln-Way Chapter Alpha Omega, serves as the mother chapter for the State Academic Honor Society in History.

Membership is open to students who have demonstrated both exceptional academic success in their history courses and leadership potential. Students are nominated for membership by their history teachers and inducted during a ceremony each Fall. The goals of Pi Sigma Pi include encouraging interest in the formal study of history, undertaking local historical projects and field trips, providing healthy socialization opportunities with students of similar interests, and recognizing outstanding academic achievement. The organization usually meets twice a month, once to plan activities, hear speakers or complete a project, and once to carry out plans for field trips and visits, most often undertaken on the weekends. To qualify for nomination, all students must have demonstrated the potential for leadership and those in conventional history courses must have earned an :”A” for the year; those in honors or AP history courses must have earned at least an “A” for the year.
