“I tried watching a podcast episode on your site, but it didn’t work on my computer. What’s wrong?”
Most likely your computer doesn’t have software that can “read” the stream being put out by the website. Go here to download (free) the necessary software to your machine.
“I’m getting a black screen when I try to stream the episode!”
It’s possible that too many people are trying to stream the episode at one time - this is especially true at high volume times such as the night before a test or during final exams. The best solution to this problem is to become a subscriber so the episode downloads to your machine.
Do I need any special software to be able to subscribe to a podcast?
Subscribing to a podcast so that you automatically receive new episodes does require some “special” software. There are multiple, free podcast “catchers” available on the web. iTunes is the most popular (and free!) program available. You can download iTunes here.
