Introduction

Every year teenagers are killed and/or injured on the job. It is your task to determine steps needed to protect yourself on the job. To do this, you will make a safety inspection checklist and then inspect your workplace.

The Task

Make a safety inspection checklist that you can use to help prevent job-related injuries. To complete this task you will need to investigate and determine the rules and regulations for teenage workers.

Resources

To make your checklist use the All About OSHA booklet, Internet sites below, safety on the job in your textbook, safety regulations from your job, "Employer's guide to Teen worker Safety". You may interview your employer, an experienced worker, your parents, and/or your cooperative work coordinator for assistance.

The Process

 

  1. Click here to obtain safety inspection checklist. You may print a copy of the checklist or complete the information and then print the checklist. After you find the checklist and want to return to the WebQuest, click go back.
  2. Use the resources to determine child labor law, safety and health regulations, and safety rules for your job.
  3. Use the safety regulations from your employer and/or the information that you gained from your interviews to complete the checklist items.
  4. Complete the checklist by inspecting the workplace and answering the yes or no boxes. List your resources at the bottom of the page.
  5. Use the rubric to evaluate the checklist.
