GRADE PLACEMENT: 10 or 11 or 12
GRADUATION REQUIREMENT: Elective. May be used to satisfy one of the two mathematics credits required for graduation.
COURSE SEQUENCE: Plane Geometry, Geometry, or Geometry Honors is a prerequisite.
OTHER PREREQUISITES: Consent of the Mathematics Department.
SUBSEQUENT COURSE: Mathematical Analysis & Trigonometry, Trigonometry, or Statistics.
STUDENT AND STAFF ORGANIZATION: Conventional.
COURSE OVERVIEW: This course is designed to strengthen algebraic skills while advancing to new topics. The introduction and use of a graphing calculator is heavily incorporated into the curriculum as well. Topics to be covered will include equations and inequalities, graphing, functions, right triangle trigonometry, law of sines/cosines, systems of equations, matrix algebra, polynomials and polynomial functions, radical expressions, quadratic functions and inequalities, rational expressions, and combinatorics. A TI-83 or TI-83 Plus graphing calculator is required. A TI-84 Plus is the most powerful calculator allowed.  Any other type of calculator will require instructor approval.


Algebra 2 Homework Calendars are here for general purposes.  In class updates take precedent over information posted on the web site.  Due to rewriting of the course, changes from last year will occur frequently.
