Hello Parents! I have created this page because I know that many of you are involved in your child's academic success, and I hope you will find this to be a useful tool. There are numerous opportunities for you to become involved in this class.
On September 24th, I will be handing out permission slips for your child to conduct observations at the grade schools in New Lenox. We have been doing this for many years, and students really enjoy this assignment. I hope to visit Tyler Elementary School on Tuesday, October 16, Bentley School on Thursday, October 18, and Martino Junior High on Wednesday, October 24. We will only be absent from school during our scheduled class time, so your child will not miss any other classes for these observations.
Last year, I invited parents (and grandparents) to come into our class for a day, and be part of a panel discussion on human development. The students will have learned about every stages of psychological development, and they will develop a series of questions. This was a huge success with students and parents alike. I would like to have another panel discussion this year on Friday, October 26th. If you would like to come in and share, please let me know. You can email me at rpehle@lw210.org.
