Mr. Nedzel’s biography

Mr. Nedzel is currently in his 7th year of teaching at Lincoln-Way Central High School.  Mr. Nedzel is originally from Palatine, Il and graduated from William Fremd High School.  His primary instrument is saxophone, but he also plays piano, clarinet, flute, and a little bit of oboe just for fun.  He earned his Bachelor’s of Music Education degree from the University of Illinois @ Urbana-Champaign.  While at the U. of I., Mr. Nedzel was active in the Marching Illini, Symphonic Bands, Basketball band, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.  He has continued his education by completing his Master’s in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago in July 2005 and has begun coursework towards his second Master’s degree in Educational Leadership/Administration from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago.

After graduating from Illinois, he got a job at Central.  Teaching responsibilities include Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Piano, Music Technology I, II, & III.  His extra-curricular activities include the Marching Knights, Pep Band, Tri-M Honors Society, and stage manager of the spring musical.

Mr. Nedzel lives in Chicago and enjoys all things Illini, the Cubs, the lakefront, new restaurants, theatre, and travelling.
