Masks are complex and for many cultures sacred objects. Before we begin making masks of our own we need to gain some preliminary information.

Masks.org - This site has information and links to all kinds of mask sites. The gallery you have just               entered is full of information about contemporary mask artists. Please browse through                some of the work. Find some masks that appeal to you and consider why. What makes                one mask better than another?               TASK #1 - Print images from five artists that work in a style that is appealing to you.

Milwaukee Public Museum - Read the introduction here describing masks and their purposes.               TASK #2 - Write a paragraph response. What bit of information stands out the most?

When you have visited these two sites you are ready to move on to the written assignment.
