Lines in the Plane

  • To understand the concepts and formulas used for lines in a plane.

  • How can you use a detour to solve a proof?
  • How do you find the midpoint of a segment?
  • What types of angles are formed by a transversal?
  • How does slope relate to parallel and perpendicular lines?

Target Goals:

  • Use Parallel lines and a transversal to identify pairs of angles.
  • Understand slope and how it relates to parallel and perpendicular lines.
  • Be able to use the detour method to solve proofs.
  • Develop a proof problem from information given in sentence form.
