Who: Students entering Lincoln-Way Central or West High School as freshmen and starting in algebra. The class is intended for students enrolled in Algebra AB, but students who are in Algebra 1 are also welcome. Space is limited to the first 30 applicants per session.
What: Lincoln-Way Central & West High Schools are offering a prep class for our students. It is called the August Algebra Academy. Students will need to bring a pencil and some paper to write on, however, there isn’t any homework!
When: The class is only three evenings for an hour and a half each, and there are two different sessions to choose from for your convenience.
Session 1 is at West on August 3, 4, and 5 from 6:30 – 8:00 each night. (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.)
Session 2 is at Central on August 10, 11, and 12 from 6:30 – 8:00 each night. (Session 2 is a repeat of Session 1.) (Also, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.)
Where: At Lincoln-Way West, each night, students are to enter through the main entrance. Students should look for signs to indicate what room to go to. At Lincoln-Way Central, each night, students are to enter through the primary entrance to the E wing of Central. As you drive in the main entrance off of Route 30, it is to the right of the flagpole. There will be signs on the doors of the primary entrance to E wing to let students know what room they are to go.
Why: The purpose is to cover some topics that will help prepare students for their algebra class once school starts. It will be a preview of some of the things students will see and will need to know how to do during the school year.
Cost: The classes are FREE!
