Wednesday, October 11, 2017

The Lincoln-Way West Theatre Company is proud to present “Leaving Iowa” in the Lincoln-Way West Performing Arts Center. The play will debut on Thursday, October 19 at 7 p.m. The West Theatre Company will also perform “Leaving Iowa” on Saturday, October 21 at 7 p.m.

This year's fall play is a delightful comedy. “Leaving Iowa” is the story of writer Don Browning, who decides to finally take his father's ashes to his childhood home. When Don discovers Grandma’s house is now a grocery store, he begins traveling across Iowa searching for a proper resting place for his father.

This road trip shifts from present to Don's memories of the annual, torturous vacations of his childhood. Don relives these delightful and disastrous family vacations through flashbacks from his past and present-day characters he meets along the way.

Tickets will be on sale on the day of the performance for $7.00 for adults, and $5.00 for students and seniors.

Numerous students are involved in this year’s fall play as cast, volunteers and crew. Those students in the cast include: Stefanos Karnezsis, Kyle Gray, Jessa Simon, Abigail Sutter, Sebastian Kopec, Brian Pavlak, Quinn O’Keefe, Nathan Windsor, Ben Radeke, Zenon Zamora, Jake Munn, Luke Holuj, John Stagner, Jared Clutter, Jacob Dorris, Sarah Stamborski, Abby Rellinger, Megan Perkne, Callie Serno, Hannah Murphy, Phelan Simkus, Therese Egner, Jillian Tolbert, Grace Pearse, Junie Sichak, and Julia Tolbert.
