On Monday, December 4, 2017, thirteen Lincoln-Way East students were given the news that they were selected as All-State Music students. These students were chosen to be All-State by the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA). Lincoln-Way East is ILMEA District 1 along with approximately 70 other high schools.

In November, there were 57 students from Lincoln-Way East that were selected for the district festivals in Band, Choir, Orchestra, Instrumental, Vocal and Jazz from the October auditions. The state selections are then carefully chosen from those students that made the district festivals. The Lincoln-Way East students who were selected as All-State include:

 Band: Evan Curatolo, Alex Guzzo, and Kevin Meaux
 Orchestra: Alicia Pearson
 Chorus: David Alexander, Emily Baker, Nicholas Forlenza, Samantha Grobmeier, Julia Maylone,
Brendan McCray, and Ashley Williams
 Jazz Band: Colin Curatolo and Aiden Dehn

“These All-State selections are a product of the dedication and commitment of the student. We are given credit for and benefit from the accolades that come to them but it is their work and performance through this audition process that produced these results. On behalf of the music faculty and private lessons instructors we are immensely proud,” said Dr. Bert Johnson, Lincoln-Way East Music Department
