Lincoln-Way West athletes celebrate Spring Signing Day

On Wednesday, May 9, 2018, student-athletes were honored in the Warriors Lodge of Lincoln-Way West High School. The Spring Signing Day Ceremony is an event that recognizes student-athletes who have committed to play a sport at the collegiate level.

Teachers, coaches, staff, friends and family of the students were in attendance; Athletic Director Ted Robbins presented.

“All of these students have been an integral part of not only their individual teams, but also of Lincoln-Way West and the continued success of the athletic program,” said Robbins “These student-athletes not only represent Lincoln-Way West in conference, regional, sectional and state athletic competitions, but also as role models in the school and community for all of our current students and for all of the future Warriors to follow. They have not only excelled in the athletic arena, but also in the classroom.”

Seventeen student-athletes were honored:

• Nick Andersen will participate in baseball at Joliet Junior College.
• Kevin Davis will participate in baseball at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
• Nathan Deloian will participate in baseball at Carson-Newman University.
• Ryan McWilliams will participate in baseball at Coppin State University.
• Danielle Callahan will participate in softball at University of St. Francis.
• Ann Coddington will participate in tennis at Olivet Nazarene University.
• Alex Croft will participate in football at University of Wisconsin-Stout.
• Jenna Fiore will participate in track and field and cross country at North Central College.
• Cailey Janosek will participate in cross country at Carroll University.
• Noelle Knezz will participate in volleyball at Moraine Valley Community College.
• Brock Krohe will participate in football at Illinois Wesleyan University.
• Austin Luckett will participate in tennis at University of St. Francis.
• Jimmie Olds will participate in wrestling at Joliet Junior College.
• Jack Ryan will participate in volleyball at Culver-Stockton College.
• Anthony Senerchia will participate in football at Benedictine University.
• Nick Skentzos will participate in football at Monmouth College.
• Jordan Telez will participate in football at MIllikin University.

Robbins closed the ceremony by thanking friends and family, and congratulated the athletes once more. “Congratulations to all the students and their parents on their outstanding accomplishments at Lincoln-Way West, and thank you for all of your support…We look forward to following the students continued success at the collegiate level,” he said.
