Lincoln-Way Central athletes Candance Finnin and Stephanie Michalski were selected to play in the Moraine Valley Chicagoland Girls Basketball All-Star Game held yesterday.

The seniors were nominated by area coaches for success in their last four years of basketball. Both girls played for the West All-Stars who were victorious over the East All-Stars by a score of 83 to 50. Finnin and Michalski contributed 14 and 5 points respectively.

Finnin was a three-year varsity starter at Lincoln-Way Central who finished with 1,272 points for her career and a 3.242 GPA. She averaged 18.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, and .7 blocks per game her senior season.

Candace is a wonderful student athlete and we were fortunate to have her in our program over the last four years, said Chris Fetherling, Centrals girls basketball coach. She is a selfless and tireless athlete who has worked extremely hard to get where she is today.

Finnin will continue her basketball career next season at Kankakee Community College.

Michalski was a two-year varsity athlete who served as a captain her senior year. She averaged 4.2 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game and has a 3.625 GPA.

Stephanie is one of the nicest student athletes I have ever come across, Fetherling said. I am so proud of the progress she made as a basketball player in our program.

Michalski will attend the University of Illinois next year.
