Lincoln-Way science teachers presented at the Northern Illinois Science Educators (NISE) conference on April 4.
NISE is a professional development group that came out of the NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) in 2014. This local group lead by one of the NGSS writers, brings together science educators from around the suburbs. Liz Hamann, LWC chemistry and AP Environmental Science Teacher, has been on the planning committee for the conference.
Scott McCreary promoted his love for outdoor education and discussed how to utilize an outdoor classroom.
Dave Baran discussed Thermodynamics to those who love this physic/chemistry topic.
Liz Hamann lead the ChemSouth roundtable, the organization that promotes a peer group of chemistry teachers in the south suburbs. Liz also worked with Lauren Gbur (LWC) and Carlie Premo (LWE).
