Lincoln-Way Teacher Attends National Energy Conference
Thursday, August 20, 2015

Lincoln-Way North teacher Kendra Will was one of seven teachers from Illinois to attend the National NEED (National Energy Education Development) Conference hosted in Long Beach California in July.

It was neat to collaborate with teachers from all over the nation to see how they teach energy in their classrooms, said Will. I learned about energy sources and energy conservation and gained innovative ideas to incorporate these concepts into my curriculum.

Will was sponsored by ComEd for the five-day conference which provided hands-on energy lessons and supporting materials to use in the classroom.

Energy conservation is the wave of the future and we need to continue encouraging our students to learn how much we impact our environment, Will said.

NEED lessons take into account state and national education goals as well as well as Next Generation Science Standards.
