East to Host Lincoln-Way Invitational for Area Marching Bands
Friday, October 9, 2015

The Lincoln-Way Invitational for marching bands will be held this Saturday from 4:00 to 10:15 p.m. at Lincoln-Way East.

The event is a joint fundraiser for the Lincoln-Way Central and Lincoln-Way East Music Boosters with all of the proceeds going toward the schools music programs.

Eighteen area bands will compete and Lincoln-Way Central will perform an exhibition at 7:15 p.m. and Lincoln-Way Easts exhibition is at 10 p.m.

With the Illinois State Marching Championships in one week, the Lincoln-Way Invitational is a great opportunity for marching bands to fine-tune their productions and practice in front of an audience, said Bert Johnson, Lincoln-Way East Music Chair and Band Director.

The State Marching Championships are October 17 at Illinois State University.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate and cost $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and students and $25 for a family of four.
