Lincoln-Way West & Central Students Honored for "Voice of Democracy" Essays
Wednesday, February 3, 2016

On January 31, nine Lincoln-Way students were honored at the Voice of Democracy annual banquet. Between West and Central, students submitted over 150 essays, and nine were chosen for awards at the local level.

"This writing contest is an excellent illustration to our students that writing can powerfully connect them to their community. Rather than their writing existing only in an academic space, the students are able to see how their words can resonate with those outside the walls of Lincoln-Way," commented Mary Hilbert, Lincoln-Way West English Department Chair.

Honored students from left to right are:

Bailey Tincher (Central), Bella Hernandez (Central), Hannah Slater (West), Caitlyn McGrory (West), Olivia Smith (Central), Riley McLaughlin (Central), Anna Suppes (Central), Kayla Orsi (Central) and Jacob Dryja (Central)
