North Student Elected Lt. Governor of Key ClubFriday, February 12, 2016
For the 5th year in a row, a Lincoln-Way North student has been elected to the Lt. Governor's post of Key Club Division 23 of the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District. The name may look familiar because, out of the 5 years, this will be the 4th member of the Glecier family to be elected to this distinguished position.
John Glecier, currently a sophomore, was elected to this executive board position and will assume the post at the District Convention-Leadership Conference in March. He will be replacing his brother Daniel Glecier, a graduating senior (their older sisters, Amber and Ashleigh were also Lt.Govs; Amber served in 2012-13 and was the first Lincoln-Way student to hold an executive board post since Megan Toomey in 1997). John will be sworn in as a North student, but will merge with East in the fall.
“We are very proud to have John carry on this leadership tradition, not only for Lincoln-Way, but also for his family as well,” commented Matt Jordan, Lincoln-Way North Key Club Sponsor.
The I-I District covers all of Illinois and the eastern-third of Iowa. Division 23 includes 14 High Schools: Bloom, Bloom Trail, Joliet Catholic, Joliet Central, Joliet West, the four Lincoln-Ways, Manteno, Rich Central, Rich East, Rich South, Watseka. It is one of the largest divisions in both members and geography on the Illinois side of the District.
