Community Orchestra Event
Wednesday, February 24, 2016

Monday evening, February 22nd, string orchestra students from Lincoln-Way East, North, Youth Strings, and Summit Hill came together in our annual Winter Strings Extravaganza.

Almost 200 students performed together under the direction of Michelle Freeland. The theme of the evening was centered on music being a “home” where students feel comfortable to express themselves, grow as individuals, and develop their musical skills.

Ms. Anna Walker, professional cellist and L-W studio cello teacher, performed Haydn’s 2nd Cello Concerto with the LWN/LWE Chamber Ensemble, followed by every string orchestra from 5th-12th grade being featured.

Pictured here is the grand finale, Home by Phillip Phillips, with Chase Walsh on guitar, Jason Marquardt on electric bass, and Brandon Bulthuis on percussion.
