North Jazz Band Earns Division I Ratings at Meadows
Monday, February 29, 2016

Congratulations to the Lincoln-Way North on their 6th consecutive Division I ratings at Jazz in the Meadows this weekend!

The group performed Happy-Go-Lucky Local by Duke Ellington, Lady of the Lavender Mist by Duke Ellington, and Hullabaloo by Alan Baylock.

"I’m so impressed with the quality performance these students have been working towards all year. The group displayed very mature playing of this most American musical form and having several students display markable learning of improvisation that has taken place this year, was truly amazing," remarked Kirk Hickman, Band Director.

One of their judges was Lincoln-Way Alumni Dr. David Fodor. It’s always very special to perform for a LW alumni, and I know it was special for him," Hickman added.

Jazz ensemble will perform next at the Fish Fry on March 18 at Lincoln-Way North, meal tickets are $10 and at the Jazz Showcase Concert on April 29.
