Ruling by Circuit Court Judge Roger Rickmon Dismisses Lawsuit Challenging Cosure of Lincoln-Way North High School
Monday, June 6, 2016

Today, Will County Circuit Court Judge Roger Rickmon granted Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210's motion to dismiss an amended lawsuit filed by Lincoln-Way Taxpayers Unite (LWATU) challenging the Board of Education's August 2015 decision to close Lincoln-Way North High School at the end of the 2016-17 school year.

The Board's difficult decision last August to close Lincoln-Way North was made in response to serious fiscal challenges facing the District. Since that time, District 210 has proceeded to plan for the closure of Lincoln-Way North to ensure the smoothest transition possible for students and faculty.

Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 Board of Education President, Dee Molinare, says, "Today's ruling will allow District 210 to concentrate our full focus on addressing the issues and challenges facing our District, while fulfilling our mission to provide opportunities to maximize the academic growth of all Lincoln-Way students in the most cost effective manner. We are committed to moving forward."
