Thursday, February 19, 2015

The Lincoln-Way Central Theatre Company will present The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 on Friday, February 27 and Saturday, February 28 at Lincoln-Way Central Performing Arts Center, 1801 E. Lincoln Highway, New Lenox.

Tickets are available at the door for $5 and the public is invited to attend.

The comedy is about a creative team responsible for a recent Broadway flop who reassemble at the Westchester estate of a wealthy angel for a backers audition of their new show. The house is replete with sliding panels, secret passageways and a German maid who appears as four different people all which figure diabolically in the comedic mayhem which follows when the infamous Slasher makes his reappearance and strikes again and again. A blizzard prevents retreat of the lyricist, actors and director. Bodies begin to drop in plain sight, masked figures drag their victims behind swiveling book cases, and accusing fingers point in all directions. Despite the investigation of a bumbling police inspector, the mystery is s solved in the nick of time and the Slasher is unmasked. The audience is sure to enjoy the authors irreverent wit and the students outstanding performance.

Cast members include Ben Davis, MaKayla Dundek, Kyla Egizio, Thomas Erhardt, Kyle OJ Mayer, Amanda Minetti, Jacob Tolbert-Rodgers, Amanda Ryan, Courtney Weigal, Sophia Zimba, and Mary Zopf.

Liz Yerkovich is the Lincoln-Way Central Theater Company Director and sponsor.
