Lincoln-Way Institute Day welcomes staffWednesday, August 17, 2016
On Tuesday, August 16, 2016 Lincoln-Way District 210 welcomed staff and teachers of all Lincoln-Way schools at their annual Institute Day.
Although the majority of those in attendance were teachers, all district staff members were involved. Members from the District 210 Board of Education Dee Molinare, Ronald Lullo, and Joe Kosteck were in attendance, along with members of the administration and student support staff.
Department Chairs began the day by meeting in the Griffin’s Lair, followed by an all-employee breakfast which was generously provided by the LWEA.
Staff then gathered in the auditorium, where JROTC members Teresa Kozak, Vince Senese, Timothy Lutz, and Kyra Baltas presented the colors. After the Pledge of Allegiance, the Lincoln-Way Marching Band filed into the crowd, performing four songs for the audience. Drum Majors Mitchell Alcoser, Abby Panozzo, Tara Tischer, Dominic Terrones, and Madeline Wilson led over 300 of their fellow musicians in the National Anthem, the Lincoln-Way Alma Mater, Born in the USA, and Battle Hymn of the Republic.
At the conclusion of the performance, Board of Education President Mrs. Dee Molinare, Superintendent Dr. Scott Tingley, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum Mr. Tim Reilly, Director of Instruction Dr. Aimee Feehery, and Director of Personnel Mr. Robert Schiffbauer spoke to the audience.
Speeches given by each of the presenters encouraged teachers to continue to move students forward into a new year of positivity and opportunity. “The success of our district will be defined by the experiences of our students over the four years that they are with us,” said Superintendent Tingley. “I am extremely confident that starting tomorrow connections will be made, and academic and social growth will begin.”
