Lincoln-Way to host 21st annual Marching Band InvitationalThursday, September 22, 2016
On Saturday, October 8, 2016, Lincoln-Way Central and Lincoln-Way East Music Departments will host the 21st Annual Marching Band Invitational. The show will host marching bands from northern Illinois area schools, featuring over two thousand high school musicians. Family members, friends, and supporters are invited to fill the football stadium at Lincoln-Way Central High School. Admissions costs are as follows:
-Children under age four: Free
-Senior Citizens (65+) and Students with I.D.: $7.00
-Family Pack (2 Adults and 2 children): $30.00
Performances will begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by Class A and Class AA awards at 7:00 p.m. Class AAA awards will begin at 9:30 p.m. Fourteen school bands are scheduled to perform, including Mokena Junior High, Providence Catholic High School, Thornton Fractional South High School, Harry D. Jacobs High School, William Fremd High School, Wheaton North High School, Alan B. Shepard High School, Coal City High School, Lake Central High School (Indiana), Huntly High School, Victor J. Andrew High School, Marian Catholic High School, Lockport High School, and Lincoln-Way High Schools.
Concessions from Giordano’s and Culver’s will be available throughout the night. Spirit wear and Invitational wear will be available for purchase as well.
“This is an excellent opportunity for those in our community who already love marching band, for those who want to learn about it, and for those students who want to see what it is all about,” says Sponsorship Director, Kim Hansen. “Everyone will be able to see some of the best bands in our region, including our very own Lincoln-Way Marching Band. They will be performing at the end of the Class AAA competition, which starts at 7:00 p.m.”
