Lincoln-Way East Students Help Restore Areas Native Habitat
Tuesday, March 10, 2015

Students from Lincoln-Way Easts Environmental Action Club volunteered time this past weekend to restore the areas native habitat. Students spent the day with members of the Forest Preserve District of Will County to remove invasive species. Six students removed honeysuckle and other debris at Hickory Creek Junction in Mokena.

Our students are really passionate about environmental preservation, said Scott Fletcher, teacher at Lincoln-Way East and Environmental Action Club sponsor. They care about our community and they want to protect its natural areas.

Students in the Environmental Action Club help maintain walking trails sponsor endangered animals, and take fun trips to learn about nature and environmental responsibility.
