Lincoln-Way East to host Girls Varsity Basketball Medieval Classic

Lincoln-Way East High School will host their annual Girls Varsity Basketball Medieval Classic on December 26-29, 2016. Participating teams include Andrew, Lincoln-Way Central, Lincoln-Way East, Minooka, Oak Forest, Peotone, Providence, and Reavis.

This year’s honorary chair will be the Mayor of Frankfort, Jim Holland. Jim Holland has served as Mayor of Frankfort for twelve years. Prior to being elected mayor, he served as a Trustee for six years. Mayor Holland is a retired marketing professional. He was a pilot for the United States Coast Guard. He earned a degree in Mathematics from the University of Washington. His two sons are Lincoln-Way High School graduates and his wife Stacy is retired from her position as Director of Community Relations for Lincoln-Way High School District 210.

Each day of the tournament, the first game will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Lincoln-Way East main gymnasium. The championship game will be played at 4:00 p.m. on December 29, 2016. Prior to the championship game, at 3:30 p.m., a three-point contest will also take place.
