Wednesday, March 11, 2015

Lincoln-Way Central U.S. History and Western Civilization Teacher Karen Desruisseaux is one of only 97 American educators who has been selected for Goethe Institutes professional development study tour of Germany this summer.

The program is called the "Transatlantic Outreach Program" or TOP.

Desruisseaux will spend two weeks in Germany over the summer to study the history of Germany and experience its modern culture.

The goal of the program is to create a cross-cultural dialogue between the classrooms of history teachers, Desruisseaux said. I am honored to be part of this trip. I cant wait to experience Germany with history teachers from the United States and Germany and incorporate what I learn into my lessons at Central.
