Lincoln-Way East Science Department to host science night for future Griffins Monday, January 23, 2017
On Wednesday, February 8, 2017, the Lincoln-Way East Science Department will host their "Griffins Growing STEM" night for feeder schools. Children in kindergarten through 6th grade from Frankfort School District 157-C and Summit Hill School District 161 are invited to participate; the event will be held from 4:45 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Parents should bring their children to the Lincoln-Way East cafeteria to meet, and are required to stay in the building as their child participates in the activities.
Space for this event is limited to the first 100 students who RSVP. Parents must RSVP via email by February 6, 2017 to Lincoln-Way East Department Chair Maria Wilson (email@example.com). There is no cost to participate.
The event will be led by science department teachers along with National Honor Society students. The future Griffins will learn about biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science. Cookies and juice will be served after the classes.
“There is nothing better than having students love science at a younger age, and that is what we plan to instill,” says Wilson.
