On Friday, February 10, 2017, four students from Lincoln-Way Central took the first place title in the beginner division at the Joliet Junior College Robotic Engineering Challenge.

The team, who called themselves the “KnightStorm,” was composed of students Mason Davis, Josh Perch, Matt Roseland, and Jason White. The team earned first place out of sixteen total teams.

During the competition, students worked together using Joliet Junior College’s LEGO Mindstorms NXT robotic kits. The teams built and programmed robots to compete in five different challenges, earning points for various aspects of each challenge.

“This was the first year we competed in this contest,” says Instructional Technology teacher, Rob Fazio. “I am very proud of our students for performing so well.”
