Brian Murphy, Lincoln-Way administrator has recently earned his doctorate degree from Loyola University.

Brian Murphy, Director of Transportation for the Lincoln-Way High School District 210, has recently completed four years of study, research, and presentations to earn his doctorate in Educational Leadership and policy studies from Loyola University.

“The job as an administrator is extremely complex. We are proud of being able to promote our administrators from our own Lincoln-Way faculty and staff. However, part of being a Lincoln-Way teacher and administrator is furthering one’s education through masters’ and doctoral programs.
Throughout their graduate course work our administrators are given the opportunity to network with many of the finest educators in the state of Illinois. By sharing the “best of the best” in ideas, researching and debating leadership and educational issues our administrators bring those ideas back to Lincoln-Way so all will benefit from their knowledge. We are proud of our Lincoln-Way people and their families, for achieving graduate degrees is truly a family experience. Many hours are spent away from home and family to obtain the advanced degrees. I congratulate Brian and all the previous administrators and teachers for obtaining their masters degrees and their doctorate’s, “ stated Dr. Lawrence A. Wyllie, superintendent.

Brian is in his 8th year working for Lincoln-Way. He has been a math teacher, math department chair, volleyball coach at Lincoln-Way East and a building administrator for Lincoln-Way Central. He has served as the Director of Transportation for District 210 for the past 2 years.

Brian received his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Northern Illinois University, and his masters degree from Governors State University. His doctoral dissertation was entitled “The Role of Demographics in Evolution of a School District.”

Brian and his wife Dawn live in Manhattan with their three children. The oldest child attends Manhattan Elementary District 114; the two younger children are in pre-school.
