Dr. Lawrence A.
Wyllie, superintendent of Lincoln-Way High School District
210, was recently invited to join the national Suburban School
Superintendents League. This elite group of 100 superintendents
from around the country discusses education issues as it
pertains to their district and districts throughout the nation.
Dr. Wyllie participated in the 43rd national conference held with the Suburban
School Superintendents. The organization was formed in 1964 for the purpose
of research and discussion of educational issues that were critical
to suburban school districts with an enrollment under 100,000 students.
The group of 100 superintendents is divided by regions: Region I from the
Eastern states; Region II takes in the Midwest area; Region III is the
Great Plains states; and Region IV is the Western states.
Areas of discussion included, “The
Science of Art and the Art of Science.”
“The Lincoln-Way Board of Education has always known Dr. Wyllie to be an
educational leader. It is appreciated that he is being recognized at the national
level for his leadership and accomplishments over the years. This exchange of
ideas among top educators is a real benefit to our Lincoln-Way schools,” stated
Ron Kokal, president of the Lincoln-Way High School District 210 Board of Education.
