Writing Center at Lincoln-Way - Very Popular

The Lincoln-Way High School District 210 Board of Education heard a report at their January 10 meeting giving the board an overview of the new Writing Centers that were implemented into the curriculum at each high school this year.

Ellie Warning, Lincoln-Way East, and Renae Goldie, Lincoln-Way Central, reported that over 3000 individual students conferences have been given in the Writing Center during the first semester of this school year. The Writing Center teachers have been busy helping students with college application essays, giving mini-lessons for writing assignments, collaborating with teachers for creating writing assignments and giving guidance and support on essay revisions to hundreds of students.

Renea Goldie added, “In addition, for second semester the Writing Centers are working on ACT writing preparation, term paper research nights at both schools for students; help with scholarship essays and help with Advanced Placement Literature and language testing.”
