Assistant Superintendent
of Finance
The Lincoln-Way High School District 210 Board of Education
approved the recommendation of Ron Sawin for the position of
Assistant Superintendent of Finance.
Ron was currently serving as the District Director of Finance, a position he
has held since 2003.
Ron began working for Lincoln-Way in August 1982 as a Math teacher, volleyball
coach and track coach. He became an Assistant Dean in 1993. He served as the
Coordinator of Deans at Lincoln-Way Central from August 2001 to June 2003.

“ Ron is very knowledgeable with school finances. He is a former math teacher.
He is very bright and enjoys all the complex issues of state funding and school
finance. He has been a big part of the success of the construction process over
the past few years, as we build Lincoln-Way North and Lincoln-Way West. He is
ready to take on the job as Assistant Superintendent of Finance,” commented
Dr. Lawrence A. Wyllie, superintendent.
Ron earned his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics education from the University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received his Masters of Business Administration
in finance from the University of Illinois – Chicago, and completed his
educational administration Type 75 at Governors State University.
“I am looking forward to serving the Lincoln-Way community in this new
capacity. I am excited about the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead
for all of us as we usher in a new era serving three, then four high schools
and all the Lincoln-Way District,” said Ron Sawin.
Ron and his wife, Betsy, live in New Lenox. They have two daughters, Emily, a
Lincoln-Way Central graduate, Class of 2006. She is currently a junior at the
College of Charleston, South Carolina, majoring in Biochemistry and a member
of the college varsity volleyball team. Ellen is a senior this year at Lincoln-Way
Central. She will be attending the University of Evansville, in Evansville, Indiana
in the fall, majoring in Marketing and playing volleyball for the university. |
