Quick Notes from the Board of Education Meeting .......


At the Board of Education meeting held on Thursday, November 14, 2008, the board:
                                        

  • Approved, as recommended by Dr. Lawrence A. Wyllie, superintendent, the Fall 2008 Foundation Donation requests in the amount of $248,112.00.

  • Heard a report from Dr. Lawrence A. Wyllie recognizing that November 15, 2008  has been designated by the Illinois Association of School Boards as School Board Members Day in Illinois. Dr. Wyllie thanked each volunteer school board member for their dedication to serving the students, faculty, and staff  of the Lincoln-Way High School District 210.
  • Approved the resolution to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the Will County Transportation Consortium of various school districts for the mandatory testing of employees as we have in the past.

  • Heard the Construction Update report from Al Steffeter, representing Henry Bros. Construction. Lincoln-Way West project continues on a safely, quality manner, on schedule and under budget. The Fine Art and Academic building roofs are 100% completed. The Physical Education roof is now 99% completed. Installation of the metal roof parapet wall copings continues on all three buildings. Installation of the ductwork, fire protection, piping, plumbing, electrical systems, fire alarm systems, temperature control systems and communications systems continues on in all buildings at a steady pace.  Installation of the stadium synthetic playing turf is now 75% complete. AT &T is currently installing telephone cabling and equipment into the schools communications equipment room.
