concepts, including SCHEMA and previewing textbooks.

These
sessions will emphasize the DURING READING stages -
from instruction and guided reading activities to "fix-up" strategies
when students struggle with text. Notetaking, SubSearch
(PS) Graphic Organizers and Skim/Scan are the keys.

sessions will emphasize the AFTER READING
stages - developing authentic comprehension
and vocabulary assessments, and "teaching to
the tests" in content areas. Writing test questions
that prepare students for assessments in reading
and graphic data will be a significant portion of
these sessions.
