Stage 1: Desired Results

Understandings

(GR)  Students will study and apply all grammatical rules for internal punctuation, agreement, and voice.

(Voc)  Students will continue to develop strategies to master vocabulary words in Level E.

What are the minimal competencies in grammar for all L-W students?
How do grammatical skills reinforce and improve students' writing and speaking?
How do students apply a formalized vocabulary study to their general study of English?

(GR) comma, semicolon, dash, paerntheses, ellipsis, capitalization, and italics/subject-verb agreement, pronoun-antecedent, active/passive voice, apostrophes, sentence combining.  Continue to use a variety of sentences in writing.  Continue student accountability for Minimum Competency.

(Voc) pronunciation, synonyms, antonyms, sentence completions, analogies

Stage 2: Assessment Evidence

(GR)  grammar exercises and written assignments

(Voc)  objective unit tests and cumulative final exam
