Stage 1: Desired Results

Understandings

(GR)  Students will continue to apply internal punctuation, agreement, and correct use of voice.  Students will also learn sentence variety through sentence combining.  A variety of sentence types and grammar work in association with ACT preparation and the research paper is also incorporated and practiced.

(Voc)  Students will continue to develop strategies to master vocabulary words in Level F.

What are the minimal competencies in grammar for all L-W students?
How do grammatical skills reinforce and improve students' writing and speaking?
How do students apply a formalized vocabulary study to their general study of English?

(GR) all internal punctuation and agreement skills applied
simple, compound, and complex sentences used with greater sophistication / ACT prep (online and in class).  Continue student accountability for Minimum Competency.

(Voc) pronunciation, synonyms, antonyms, sentence completions, analogies
