Making a Difference!
Since its inception in 1994, the Lincoln-Way High School Foundation for Educational Excellence has donated to enrich the educational experiences and social opportunities for Lincoln-Way students throughout the District. The Foundation fully funded the $200,000 project that delivered a wireless network to all four high schools in the district. In recent years, the Foundation provided all the funds necessary to expand bandwidth in all four high schools to improve performance of all educational technologies. Funding from the Foundation has also provided each classroom throughout the district with technology presentation carts. Each cart includes a laptop, a projector, a document camera and speakers. Every year the Foundation also awards $15,000 in scholarships to deserving graduating seniors.
How Grants Are Disbursed
The Foundation Board requests grant proposals, which are submitted by department chairs representing academic departments and faculty representing student activities. Grant proposals are reviewed by the Foundation Donation Committee and administration. Funding recommendations are then presented to the Foundation board of directors for approval. Each grant selection is based on the level to which it will enrich and enhance the educational experience and the number of students impacted.
