Summer school classes moved to Lincoln-Way West
Tuesday, June 19, 2012
Lincoln-Way High School District 210 announced today that the summer school classes being held at Lincoln-Way Central for first semester and second semester will be moved to Lincoln-Way West effective tomorrow, Wednesday, June 20, 2012.
"With the construction on Route 30 and the scheduled entrance closures for Lincoln-Way Central by IDOT we needed to move the location of summer school to maintain the safety of our students, parents, faculty and staff. IDOT informed us of the entrance closures on Monday afternoon," stated Dr. Lawrence A. Wyllie, superintendent.
Classes will be located at Lincoln-Way West, and students will be informed by individual letter what classroom they will be going to at West on Tuesday, June 19 at 11:30 a.m. before they leave summer school. District and school administrators will be at West early Wednesday morning to answer questions and direct students to their classrooms.
Students riding buses to Central will now ride to West. They will be dropped off in the back of the school; students should enter West through doors 43 and 44.
Parents driving their students, please drive them to Lincoln-Way West, 21701 S. Gougar, New Lenox, drop off at the front entrance to the school by the flagpole and enter door 1.
Students driving to Central, please drive to West, park in the east lot between the school and stadium, enter door 21.
Students who walk to Central, a bus will be provided to transport to West from Central. After school a bus will be provided from West to Central so students may walk home.
"Summer school classes for our students will not be interrupted, just moved. It's an efficiency issue," added Wyllie.
Second semester summer school will be held at Lincoln-Way West and Lincoln-Way North.
