The Board of Education met last night at Lincoln-Way Central. Highlights from the October 21 meeting include: • Student Council presidents provided an overview of student activities at each building. •Central: Madison Jendersak •East: Peyton Lamphear •West: Emma Stiglic • Reviewed and approved a list of Capital Improvement Projects set to take place during the summer of 2022. District administration will now work with the Board’s architect to design and bid all projects on the list. Projects include: • Roofing restoration, pavement repair, and other routine maintenance • Refinishing of the gymnasium floors at all three schools • New stadium scoreboards at Central and East • Foods lab renovation at Central • Remodeling of conference and restroom facilities at West •Appointed new members of the District 210 Advisory Committee, which consists of district stakeholders from all three campuses. Congratulations to our LWC September Student of the Month- Armani Daniels. "Armani Daniels is a wonderful student who is an important contributor to third period AP US History. Not only does Armani work well with others, but she also asks really good questions during group work. However, what impresses me most about Armani, and the main reason for the nomination. is her maturity. After a few weeks of class Armani reached out to me and asked for help. Too often, I have seen students struggle with the rigors of the AP curriculum without getting the necessary help. Armani advocated for herself and set up a meeting to find ways to better prepare for class. Without mentioning her name to other students, I used Armani as an example of what good students do when they feel lost. After I shared Armani's example, I had numerous students come forward and ask for additional help. Without realizing it, Armani was a role model for self-advocacy. Not only did our meeting help her personally, but Armani also opened the door for other students to succeed in class. Thank you, Armani, for being mature enough to take ownership of you education." - Ryan McAllister  "Armani is one of those students who makes a significant impact on those around her.
