The Future Business Leaders of America club is proud to share that Lincoln-Way Central had a record-breaking year in our partnership with Versiti Blood Centers! This school year, our students and staff helped save up to 312 lives by donating blood at three separate drives, with 54 first-time donors stepping up to make a difference. Even more amazing—we increased our total units collected by 82% compared to last year! Thank you to everyone who donated, shared the opportunity with your students and helped make this impact possible. We can’t wait to keep saving lives next school year! Coach Taylor & FBLA Go Knights!

This year LWC's Environmental Action Club is hosting an ALL DAY Dine and Donate event on Earth Day (TODAY) at Panera Bread in Frankfort. All proceeds from this event will be donated to an environmental organization (such as Nature Conservancy or water.org), which will be voted on by club members. Please consider participating for this worthy environmental program. Make sure you show the attached flyer if ordering in person or type in FUND4U for any orders online so LWC EAC will receive credit for the event.

📚✨ IT’S ACT WEEK! ✨📚 Here’s your last-minute math survival guide — quick tips that can seriously boost your score 💯 🔢 1. Pick-a-Number Trick: When a problem is full of variables (like “If x is twice y…”), plug in your own numbers to make it real. Way easier than untangling abstract algebra! 🧠 2. Backsolve Like a Boss: Answer choices are there to HELP you. Plug 'em into the question instead of solving from scratch. ⏱️ 3. Don’t Get Stuck: If you’re stuck for more than 45 seconds, circle and move on. Every question is worth the same — no heroics needed! 📐 4. Know Your Formulas: You don’t get a cheat sheet — so memorize the essentials: area, slope, SOHCAHTOA, special triangles, etc.

❓ACT English Test Tip of the Day❓ ❓All Production of Writing and Knowledge of Language questions have QUESTION STEMS that will guide you in selecting the right answer. ❓You have analyzed (and have maybe even classified) these stems in English class over the past 9 weeks so that you know what the question is asking. ❓POW and KLA question stems and answer choices require a bit more reading, but take the time to do so! These are often not hard questions, they just take a bit longer to read. ❓When you return from spring break, you will have the opportunity to take a full online ACT English test during your English class❤️🖤

🙌ACT English test tip of the day🙌 ✔️Read all answer choices carefully. Notice differences between answer choices. ✔️If any part of an answer choice is wrong, the whole answer choice is wrong. ✔️Use the annotation tools to "cross out" or "mask" wrong answers to better focus on options. ✔️Don't just choose an answer because it "sounds good." Be sure the answer is grammatically correct. ✔️Don't be afraid to choose "NO CHANGE." Sometimes the original way the passage is written is correct. 🙌You will be taking a digital practice English test in class this Wednesday! It is a great opportunity to test out the platform and your skills in a "no risk" situation. 🙌You've got this Knights! ❤️🖤

🎯 ACT Math Strategy Reminder - Traditional Math When in doubt, go with what you know. Traditional math — the stuff you learned in class — is almost always the fastest way to solve ACT questions. 🧮✏️ ✅ If a question feels familiar, trust that instinct. Use what you’ve already practiced. 🔍 Focus on finding the first step — that unlocks the rest of the path. 🚫 Can’t solve it right away? Use that step to eliminate wrong answers and narrow it down. Work smarter, not harder. Let your math class knowledge work for you on test day! 💡💯 #ACTPrep #ACTMathTips #MathStrategies

😎ACT English Test Tip of the Day...Spring Break edition!😎 When you take the English test, there are some questions you may be able to answer by just focusing on the underlined/highlighted portion, BUT some questions require you to consider the larger context of the sentence, paragraph, or entire passage. ✔️Read (or at least skim) the entire passage. ✔️Most Conventions of Standard English questions require you to at least read the entire sentence. ✔️Most Production of Writing and Knowledge of Language items require you to be familiar with the passage as a whole. Note the writing style/tone of the passage (formal/informal), purpose/focus of the passage, and organization of the passage. 😎You have been learning about and practicing how to answer these question types for the past 9 weeks in English class-you've got this! 😎When you return from break, you will have the opportunity to take a full practice English ACT in your English class. ❤️🖤

😎ACT English Test Tip of the Day...Spring Break edition!☀️ 😎Be aware of timing on the English test. You have 45 minutes to answer 75 questions. These questions are spread over five passages with 14-16 questions each. 😎Mathematically, this breaks down to 9 minutes per passage/question set. Some questions, such as usage questions, will take you seconds to answer, while other questions (those on rhetoric, style, and organization) may take a bit longer because they involve more reading. EACH QUESTION HAS THE SAME POINT VALUE! DON'T LEAVE ANYTHING BLANK! Take the time to READ the longer questions/answer choices. Often, these are NOT hard questions, they just require you to read a bit more. DON'T LEAVE POINTS ON THE TABLE! 😎Keep enjoying your spring break! When you return, your English teacher will be offering the opportunity to take an online practice English ACT in class.❤️🖤
