CPR

The Medical Anatomy and Physiology students at LWE became CPR certified before and after spring break. CPR, cardiopulmonary resuscitation is an emergency procedure that combines rescue breathing and chest compressions in an effort to reverse cardiac arrest. Students were trained by Morgan Southern MSN FNP from Critical Condition BLS Training in Frankfort.

CPR’s purpose is to generate oxygenated blood to vital organs and provide temporary relief which reduces the likelihood of brain damage and death.  While CPR is not likely to restart the heart, it does buy time until help can arrive. Mrs. Gonzalez-Jensen and Mr. Fletcher’s students are now trained to assist in such a situation.

We believe that it is important skill for our future medical professionals to possess and thanks to Ms. Southern our students are more prepared.
