Adult woodworking class

Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 is once again offering an adult woodworking class at Lincoln-Way West, 21701 Gougar Rd, New Lenox.

Whether you are interested in creating your own family heirlooms, doing repairs, or interested in a lifelong hobby, you can get started here. The class is open to anyone who is interested in exploring the basics of woodshop safety, power tools, woodworking machinery, sanding, finishing, and more. Tools and materials will be provided in order for all participants to build their very own Adirondack Chair!

Participants must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate. They will need to bring their own safety glasses, tape measure, and pencils each week. No prior woodworking experience is necessary as this class is designed for beginners.

The course is taught by Lincoln-Way instructor Nick Schroder. Nick brings 20+ years of woodworking experience with him and grew up in his dad’s furniture shop. Prior to teaching, Nick was a cabinetmaker for several years and ran his own woodworking business.

The class will be held on Saturday February 7th and 14th running from 8am – 2pm. Cost is $160.00 for the course. Space is limited to the first 12 people. Since spots fill up quickly, the $160 fee is non-refundable.

Please email Nick at nschroder@lw210.org to register.
