Residency Verification
In accordance with Illinois law, a student's residence is legally defined as that of the individual who holds legal custody. Enrollment in the School District is limited to students who are residents of the District, along with the individual asserting legal custody, who must also reside within the District.
The District reserves the right to investigate the residency status of any student both prior to and following enrollment. This may include, but is not limited to, utilizing third-party vendors, investigative services, conducting home visits, and/or requesting additional documentation. Enrollment shall not be considered final until the student's residency status has been verified and confirmed.
In an effort to streamline residency verification processes, the district uses a third-party vendor, the CLEAR public database, to automatically verify student address information. CLEAR uses the parent/guardian's name and address to crosscheck the information against public electronic databases such as utility companies.
This process is an efficient way to ensure that students enrolled in our schools are residents of the Lincoln-Way District 210 community. This residency verification process safeguards district resources for taxpayers and is convenient for families.

Complete the residency verification process, which includes:
Filling out the form linked below
Providing the required residency documents
Submit COPIES of the documents in one of three ways:
Via email, or
Via Mail, or
Delivered to the Superintendent's Office at any Lincoln-Way high school.

Please complete the residency verification process if your family:
Is transferring into the district from a different high school or elementary school not within the Lincoln-Way boundaries
Has moved to a new address, still within Lincoln-Way boundaries, and need to update your information
Has been flagged by the CLEAR residency verification system as requiring additional documentation for proof of residency
Provide the completed form AND copies of residency verification documents by:

Copies of the required documents can be dropped off at any Lincoln-Way High School. Clearly mark them for the Office of the Superintendent. Please do not submit original documents.
