It was a remarkable day for the Lincoln-Way Girls Wrestling (LWGW) program as the team successfully defended its state title, earning back-to-back Illinois Girls Dual Team State Championships. With this victory, LWGW remained the only program in the state to claim the championship, continuing to set the standard for excellence in girls wrestling across Illinois.
Throughout the competition, the athletes demonstrated outstanding skill, determination, and composure, consistently rising to the occasion and showcasing the strength of the program at every match. Their performance reflected months of preparation and teamwork, and the championship was well earned.
The program extends its appreciation to the Illinois Wrestling Coaches & Officials Association and DeKalb Girls Wrestling for hosting a first-class event and for providing meaningful competitive opportunities for girls wrestlers across the state.
