Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 Announces New Assistant Superintendent, Central Principal

Long-time Lincoln-Way Central principal Dr. Steve Provis will be transitioning into a new role as Assistant Superintendent beginning July 1, 2022, overseeing human resources for the district. Provis, a 1986 graduate of Lincoln-Way, has been employed by the District since 1991 and has served as principal at Lincoln-Way Central since 2010.

“Lincoln-Way means so much to me. I grew up in the community and went to school here. I appreciate and look forward to this opportunity to grow professionally and take on new challenges.  I want to continue the excellence of this school district. This is a huge honor for me. Words cannot explain how humbled I am,” said Provis.

As Dr. Provis vacates his role as Lincoln-Way Central principal, current associate principal Dr. Beth McNamara will step in to lead the Knights.  Dr. McNamara grew up in Mokena and graduated from Lincoln-Way Central in 2000.  Beth has been with District 210 since 2005, spending time at both Lincoln-Way East and Central.  Most recently, she has served as a leader for the Knights as the associate principal for curriculum and instruction for the past seven years.

"I am extremely honored to be the next principal at Lincoln-Way Central High School. As the leader of this school, I will work to carry on the rich tradition of academic excellence and strong school pride.  As a long-time member of the Knight family, I have seen first-hand the impact of a positive high school experience and place high value on classroom community and creating supportive relationships.  I look forward to working together with my LWC colleagues to create a school environment in which all students are proud to call Lincoln-Way Central their home,” said Dr. McNamara.

Dr. McNamara recently moved back to Mokena with her husband and four children, and is excited to raise her kids in the Lincoln-Way community.

Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 is thrilled to welcome Dr. Provis and Dr. McNamara into their new roles and we look forward to the positive impact they both have on our school community.
