The Lincoln-Way Central Interact Club teamed up with the Central English Department to collect socks for the homeless for their annual Socktober drive. Together we raised 312 pairs of socks! Thank you to our wonderful students here at Central for their generosity.


Our Scholastic Bowl team is off the a great start with their first victory of the season last night at Bolingbrook High School. Looking forward to a great season.


The Annual High School Art Exhibit at the Vogt Visual Arts Center in Tinley Park will feature artwork from 33 L-Way Central students. Their hard work and creativity will be on display at the Vogt Center from November 4th -- 30th, located at 17420 67th Ct. Tinley Park, 60477.

NHS officers from all 3 Lincoln-Way's met today at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Joliet for a National Day of Service.


Students in Ceramics class have been working hard and having fun as they learn the process of creating coil pots.




Freshman Seminar and Reading students have been practicing their active reading skills while completing The Five People unit. Students are doing a great job analyzing the text.



BLAST OFF! JROTC had an amazing meeting. They built model rockets and discussed the mechanics of propulsion. The launch date is set for next week. Great sponsors, student leaders, and an amazing opportunity for LWC students.





Thank you to the New Lenox Fire Department who taught the LIFE Skills class about fire prevention and showed them around Station 1!









Students practice their conversational skills in Spanish 2 by completing a “buscapersonas” and asking their classmates if they did certain activities over the summer.

Last night, our LWC and LWW peer helpers met at West with Ashley Searing from Rejuvenate Plants and Wellness to discuss mental health awareness and self-care. They had the opportunity to paint terra cotta pots and take home a succulent or cactus!




LWC Science celebrating the colleges we headed off to after high school. Good luck to our seniors as you finish those college applications!




Students in Mr. Raatjes's Drawing and Painting class spend time demonstrating their creativity as they work with color and typography on their acrylic paintings. Art classes offer a great opportunity to develop and express your creative side!




Knights Community
Beginning Monday, LWC will be joining many schools nationwide in a collection for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. LW210 has made donations to LLS yearly during October.

Photography 1 students began working in the darkroom this week using the equipment and chemicals to print photographs from their negatives. Photo students get to experience both film and digital photographic processes in Photography class.




SADD, TATU, and Snowball had a great experience this past month making toys out of t-shirts for the local animal shelters.






Last Saturday, 26 students from International Club went to HMart, a Korean grocery store chain. There they got to explore the store, buy specialty products from Asia, and eat lunch at the food court. Central students were joined by students from East for an extra special trip!
