Lincoln-Way East is proud to celebrate an incredible achievement—being named a Blue Ribbon Award recipient!
This honor reflects the dedication, talent, and hard work of our students, who continue to excel not only in the classroom, but also in athletics and extracurricular activities. Their commitment to excellence is what makes LWE such a well-rounded and outstanding school community.
During the assembly, students from a wide range of academic and activity-based backgrounds were highlighted, showcasing the many ways Griffins make an impact.
A special moment came during our Spring Pep Rally, when Mr. Griggs presented this prestigious award—recognizing the collective effort of our students, staff, and families.

AP Language students collaborated on a book of choice presentation. Each group made a PPT or Canva that included research on the author, connections to AP Language exam skills (rhetorical analysis, argument, synthesis), an advertisement to hook the audience, and a John Green style rating/review of the book. The collaborative lab stations allowed for a rotation setup: each group was able to present three times, to three different small group audiences. Students noted that although presenting three times in a row was tiring, it allowed for small but significant adjustments in timing, delivery, and group dynamics. Students were able to build confidence in their speaking and presentation skills while enticing their classmates to read a great book!
