Students and staff celebrated the last Coffee House in the LWE library today. Mr. Teare's guitar classes jammed the morning away while the Griffins enjoyed coffee and tea from Frankfort's grounded coffee shop.

Mr. Harrah's Religions and Philosophy students completed a unit on Islam where two students taught the class about their favorite holiday and played a Kahoot! game for the whole class. Mr. Harrah also arranged for middle eastern cuisine of falafel and chicken shawarma. The class enjoyed it!

Mr. Griggs met with students who were nominated by a staff member to become a future Griffin Guide - a new peer mentoring program comprised of juniors and seniors working with freshmen that will start next year. This is a great leadership experience for our students. There is an application process in case more students want to apply.

AP United States Government and Politics students formed political parties and ran mock campaigns to get their candidate elected as President of the United States. They had to create a party platform, raise money, craft a theme, design flyers and posters, and produce a commercial. The week culminated with a debate amongst the three candidates in each class with their peers looking on and voting today.

Over 200 LWE sophomores are taking the AP United States History exam this morning. Some of them met to review early this morning as part of their APUSH Breakfast (more like a Coffee Club). From 6 - 7 a.m. the students said they had a good night’s sleep, good breakfast, exchanged last minute questions, were wide awake and feeling relaxed going into the 8am test.
