A special congratulations to Jenna Cronk, Ryan Dennison & Matt Reid who earned 1st place in Welding Fabrication at the SkillsUSA State Championships this past weekend! We are proud of this team of three for being the first group of students in Lincoln-Way West history to earn first place honors at SkillsUSA State. #AWarriorWithin



Mrs. Horn's Honors Biology classes at West practiced the Gel Electrophoresis technique. They simulated loading DNA from DNA sequences from bottlenose dolphins at Brookfield Zoo and the Mote Research Marine Lab in Sarasota, FL. Students practiced micropipeting simulated DNA samples into the gel and setting up their electrophoresis chambers.





A&P Medical students went to Helping Hands Children’s Therapy in New Lenox earlier today in order to learn from owner Nicole Hennings about OT, PT and speech therapy for kids.

Students were celebrated Thursday evening for their outstanding work in Art this school year. Congratulations to all of the students who had artwork in the LWW Spring Art Show this week. A special congratulations to Marie DeSilva for winning the Purchase Award this year. Marie's drawing will be added to the permanent collection in the auditorium lobby.






Congratulations to all of our seniors who earned the following academic honors: National Merit Finalist, National Merit Commended, National Hispanic Recognition Award, National African American Recognition Award, National Rural and Small Town Scholar, Summa Cum Laude, AP Scholar and Illinois State Scholar!

Last week four students completed their three month School-To- Apprenticeship training. Their journey ended with a formal awards banquet at the IBEW Local 176. Congrats, Warriors!

Students attended a presentation today about how to establish and maintain healthy relationships as well as Erin’s Law from Guardian Angel Community Services. Students should go to PPS if they are looking for additional resources from today’s presentation.

Juniors & Seniors – Save the Date for Social! The West Junior-Senior Social – Lincoln-Way Luau will be Wednesday, May 15, from 7:00 – 10:00 pm at Zachary’s Red Barn in Homer Glen. Join your friends for music, outdoor games, s'mores, face painting, and snacks from Not Your Mama's Trailer. Tickets are $30 and will be on sale in GoFan from May 1 – May 8.
